My dead friend Zoe is a dark comedy drama that follows the journey of merit (Sonequa Martin-Green), a veteran of the US Army in the Afghanistan army, which is in contradiction with her family due to Zoe’s presence (Natalie Morales), the best friend her dead in the army. Despite the persistence of her group counselor VA (Morgan Freeman), her mother’s harsh love (Gloria Reuben) and the levity of an unexpected love interest, the comfortable dysfunctional friendship with Zoe maintains the isolated duo.
